Boozhoo, I am Anishinaabe and a member of Marten Falls first nation in Ontario. I learned to bead from a talented family friend when I was around eight years old. I began beading regalia for my children and continued practicing and learning in my twenties. I make it a priority to learn traditional skills from other native artists as well as learning styles and techniques from historical artifacts. I enjoy experimenting with designs and techniques that allow me to bring creativity to this historical art form. I mostly create functional beaded art in the forms of moccasins, medicine bags and regalia.”
